Time synchronisation in modern computer networks is essential. It not only provides the only frame of reference between all devices, it is critical in everything from securing, planning and debugging a network to providing a time stamp for applications such as data acquisition or email.

Microsoft Windows XP has a time synchronisation utility built into the operating system called Windows Time (w32time.exe) which can be configured to operate as a network time server. It can be configured to both synchronise a network using the internal clock or an external time source.

People frequently tell me about how snappy and fast their Windows computer is when it is new, but it seems to slow down and get sluggish over time as they use it. That this happens is why so many people recommend periodically reinstalling Windows, as absurd as that sounds.

There is a good reason why this slowdown occurs. Many (most) software packages that you will install will insert their own code in the startup sequence, causing something to happen when you start the computer, and often causing something to run and suck up CPU and resources whenever the computer is running. After awhile, this causes your startups to take a long time and causes your computer to appear sluggish because it is running all this crap.

When we read and study the biblical teaching of Creation, in Genesis Chapter 1, we see the wonderful unity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are each present - they are so united - they agree. They are so united that a singular verb can be used.

What human author would ever think of writing like that? No man would! It is ‘bad’ English, bad grammar, but superb and excellent theology.

From the beginning we learn that everything God created and made was good.
